TOYS
To progress in my project I have moved away from landscape photography and began to look at documentary photography; photographing perspectives of someone 'playing through life' and looking at life through someone else's eyes. I have begun by looking at a child's point of view. Everything seems giant to a child and they see the world in bright, vibrant coloured objects that they are attracted to. To capture this, I have conducted an intial photo shoot of children's toys, photographing them up close and trying to cature them from a child's perspective.

This is one of my most successful images from this shoot. I tried focusing in on the subject matter, in this case the toy, to emphasise how a child would see it. This makes the toy seem bigger than it actually is. By using the manual focus everything around the toy becomes blurred which means that the attention is focused onto the toy and therefore a chosen section of the image.
This is another successful image from this shoot of children's toys. This time I decided to use one toy to fill the majority of the frame in the foreground, with a few different toys in the background.
To create this image I chose a certain angle of the camera so that the toy appeared bigger than I seemed, therefore portraying it as if it was through a child's eyes. The top half of the image is all in focus, drawing your attention to the bright colours and shapes on the toy, as a child would be. The focus then becomes more blurred towards the bottom half of the image, again making the toy seem bigger than it is.
I am happy with the result of this image but I am now going to move onto looking at how a child would see their toys in a natural environment (the home) and the way they react to their surroundings.
