BATH

For this shoot I tried shooting more images using slow shutter speed camera settings. I also controlled the lighting more by altering the appature. I did this to hopefully end up with less over exposed images in comparison to my previous shoot. These images have worked slightly better but because I did not use a tripod there is some camera shake on some of the images. I have decided from these images that I am going to move on from looking at stop motions within a landscape and look at other ways that I could portray my theme of play, by focusing on how the world continually moves around us.

I have created this set of images from my most successful images from this shoot. I shot these images in Bath city centre using a slow shutter speed camera setting. I got my sister to stand in the middle of a busy high street as still as possible, I then captured the people walking by around her. I wanted my subject and the setting she was standing in to be the only thing that was in focus and for the people moving around her to be out of focus, thus creating a 'moving' effect.

I have edited this set of images in Photoshop, cropping them and changing them all to black and white. I think the images in black and white show more of the movement within the image and more of the focus is drawn to my subject.

I am happy with this set of images and I am going to continue to look at camera techniques and develop my ideas linking to my theme of play.

I have also tried printing these images in the dark room to see what effect you would get. I think these prints have turned out well and I am happy with the outcome.

Although, I am going to continue to present my images digitally as I think the outcome of th image is overall more successful.
