Portrait combinations

I have taken inspiration from the photographer Bruno Metra to create these images. I firstly conducted a photo shoot in the studio; I printed out an old baby photo of my subject and scaled it too size so that it could be used in the images. I firstly got my subject to hold the image up to her face as though it was her in the image, I then cut out certain facial features from the image such as the eyes and mouth, using making tape I then stuck the facial features from the image onto my subjects face replicating the original image, much like Bruno Metra. I decided to focus on close up simple portrait shots so that they create impact when being viewed.

These are my two  most successful images from this shoot. These are portrait images which I shot in the college studio using natural studio lighting. To create the first image, the subject firstly gave me an old baby photo of herself, I then printed this image and sized it accordingly. Once printed I then cut out the eye and mouth of the printed image and attached them onto my subjects face, much like the photographer Bruno Metra. The concept behind this image is to reveal a person's identity through the image, portraying it in an abstract and disturbing way, For the second image I used the same technique but only this time I attached only the eye from the printed image to my sunjects face. I composed these images so that the portrait filled the frame and there was no distracting background behind the subject that drew the viewer's eye away from the subject. I have edited both images both images slightly in Photoshop to enhance the colours and make the detail more vivid. I didn't want to over edit these images simply because I wanted to keep a natural feel. I am happy with the outcome of both of these images but if I were to reshoot them I would ensure that the printed image sections were correctly positioned on the subject's face to make the image look more realistic.
